Dance

Indian dance is notable for its richness and diversity. The NCPA seeks to celebrate the sheer variety of this country’s dance traditions, and to encourage lesser-known, neglected forms.

Dance programmes at the NCPA embrace innovation and welcome creative and cultural exchange from around the world. Activities range from workshops and art appreciation sessions to interdisciplinary productions and performances by international dance companies.

Our aim is to present audiences with a microcosm of dance in India, from its deep-running roots in our nation’s ancient heritage to its continuing evolution and flowering in contemporary society.

Monthly Programmes
Our regular dance programme features two performances each month, at the Little Theatre and the Dance Theatre Godrej, presenting promising and seasoned dancers in a range of dance idioms, from Kathak and Kathakali to Bharata Natyam and Manipuri.
