Every age has witnessed innovative artistic explorations. In today’s globalised scenario, practitioners of music are exposed to a plethora of creative expressions, the reflections of which are evident in contemporary art forms. The younger generations of performers seek to cross over to other genres and discover new artistic domains, especially in collaborative musical encounters. This evening’s ensemble of young musicians, with a guest appearance bysenior percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, mirrors the above philosophy. The group presents a sonic medley of acoustic instruments, exploring new sounds and creative musical expressions using sitar, djembe, and tabla, with electronically supported instruments such as zitar and keyboards.
