Dhananjay Hegde, is a young and talented Hindustani classical vocalist. He has trained initially under Venkatesh Kumar from Dharwad, and later Vinayak Torvi in the Gurukul tradition. One of the interesting aspects of Hegde’s music is the blend of Kirana and Gwalior gharana that he has imbibed from his guru. He is a graded artiste of A.I.R, and his programmes have been featured on Doordarshan and many private channels. Besides holding a Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, he is also empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to represent India in international music festivals. Hegde is the founder member of the Village Music Club, Mumbai, and is also actively involved with Bengaluru-based music organisation, Sapthak.
Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya is a qualified architect who chose to take up dance as her profession. She has performed in most of the leading sabhas in Chennai and many of her performances in Mumbai were very well-received. She has participated in several major dance productions and festivals. Her notable performances include her recital at Kalakshetra Foundation in October 2010; at the NCPA in March 2011; and at the Dance Festival in Ahmedabad in October 2011. Parthasarathy was awarded the prestigious Yuva Kala Bharathi by Bharat Kalachar in December 2009. In January 2003, she was the recipient of the Rohini Krishna Endowment Award for best dancer, awarded by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai.
