Gruber has performed for about 450 different films in the USA, France, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India and in his native Austria.
Café Elektric is a silent Austrian film and regarded among the greatest classics. The film, starring a young Marlene Dietrich—before she slipped into her glamourous avatar—is directed by Gustav Ucicky.
